lossing faith in newspapers in kuwait ..

this isn’t my first time writing about newspapers in Kuwait , i believe them all to be bad

saddly everyday i see more proof of that

So now one of the local communication companies Wataniya ( that was bought by QTell a Qatari company ) cut all ad deals with one of the local newspapers ( Alwatan ) now alwatan are angry ( its after all ads lost ) they write a big headline demanding the government to intervene to strong arm the Qatari owners , not only that but they ran online polls and some of its writiers started asking people to drop Wataniya lines in favor of the other company ( MTC ) so the Kuwaiti pride can be restored .

Okay wait a second ! , Kuwait pride ? how is our pride hurt from one company not running ads on one newspaper ? we have over 6 now , so if AT&T didn’t run an ad on Washington post American pride is hurt ?

Not only that , but they forgot to mention one thing , Alwatan owner is also PART OWNER IN MTC !! and he doesn’t state that on the the article they wrote .

earthquakes ? what earthquakes

Most news outlets and couple of blogs are saying there was an earthquakes yesterday , normal i’m sleeping but yesterday i stayed up late , i never felt anything , yet one of the news outlets is saying that people get out of their apartment building scared.

Hell there is one blogger blaming the government for not doing anything , what ? what could they do ?

yes we have to blame the government for its mistake but lets not get carried away, thats is just too much in my opinion , what can they do ? call us after it happened ?

I will not forget

Now its been 17 years since the invasion , funny how all the monuments have been removed ( the tank at Sheraton roundabout , the bullet at UN roundabout …etc ) and no mention of the invasion at all on the TV .

Do they think that we will forget ? yes they do , and they are going remarkable success in it , who would have thought that after 17 years of a country invading another you find people marching for the invader soccer win in the invaded country ?
yeah Iraqi marching because they won the Asian cup , excuse me ? its not even 20 years , thousands were killed and we let them march ? the police doesn’t let Kuwaiti march if the national soccer team win and they let Iraqi’s ?
