red-bull flugtag

Some of you may have heard of it before , some may not
Anyway , Flugtag is Flying Day in German

so Red bull is running the first flugtag in Kuwait this is the offical Page
it will be on 02 November 2007 , which is a friday
and seem like there is 3 teams with bloggers on safat in it ( as far as i know )

First we have team macholic( not the official team name )
the expert team ( or as they claim )

second we have the Net Team ! or team Kkuwaiti( not the official team name )

then the third team is patrick team which i have no idea whats the name is
Edit : the team name is The Phoenix ( for some reason didn’t notice that in the link … )

who i think will do better ?
I think macholic may get a bit then the firmware will be updated and it will brick ! ( ZING ! :p )
Net Team will have the fancier site
and pat team will have prettier picture on the the wing

Another mistake in reporting ? how can that be !!

It may sound shocking to some , but again i find bad reporting

So i was checking Aljareda ( one of the new newspapers in kuwait ) and noticed this

now for you none arabic readers i’ll try to explain

they are talking about who do what on the Aircraft Carrier USS Enterprise , so they writing the shirt code ( what each shirt stand for ) and they the words in square are
” the reds shirt ” & ” the Red shirts ”

Of course i didn’t want to say they made a mistake without checking it first , so i went and searched the net
and got this report by CNN [link]

which showed that there isn’t 2 red shirt 😛 and that one of the description they wrote match the green shirt ( a color that wasn’t used on that list they printed ) and sadly red and green isn’t just 1 letter in Arabic , so it is not that easy of a mistake

lossing faith in newspapers in kuwait ..

this isn’t my first time writing about newspapers in Kuwait , i believe them all to be bad

saddly everyday i see more proof of that

So now one of the local communication companies Wataniya ( that was bought by QTell a Qatari company ) cut all ad deals with one of the local newspapers ( Alwatan ) now alwatan are angry ( its after all ads lost ) they write a big headline demanding the government to intervene to strong arm the Qatari owners , not only that but they ran online polls and some of its writiers started asking people to drop Wataniya lines in favor of the other company ( MTC ) so the Kuwaiti pride can be restored .

Okay wait a second ! , Kuwait pride ? how is our pride hurt from one company not running ads on one newspaper ? we have over 6 now , so if AT&T didn’t run an ad on Washington post American pride is hurt ?

Not only that , but they forgot to mention one thing , Alwatan owner is also PART OWNER IN MTC !! and he doesn’t state that on the the article they wrote .
